Awesome receiver!
This cost double what my previous receiver cost, a Yamaha HTR-5860. It is also worth it. The Yamaha was great for the price, and the main reason I got this was because it had HDMI hookups, and I had just bought a nice LCD flat screen. I had an easier time setting up than some, because I had read the manual, and a few reviews before purchase, and I've been messing with this kinda stuff since I was a kid.Anyway, it did take a while to set up because I have so much stuff to hook up. I run a 5....

Best receiver Ive ever owned
Fantasic receiver. The Audessy setup takes care of all the different speaker sizes and parameters. Really makes my home theater come alive. All the controlls seem to be of very high quality. Nice touch and feel. Crutchfield service was great. Recieved the reciever via UPS in one day. Only drawback: the remote control leaves something to be desired. But I think this is a minor quible on an otherwise fine receiver.

an excellent product at an excellent price
The AVR 2807 is Denon's latest mid-priced receiver. It is an excellent product at an excellent price. I just purchased a Denon AVR 4306, which is considerably more expensive (list price $2000), and wish I had waited for the new AVR 2807. I have now heard and had a chance to play with a 2807 and have gotten reasonably familiar with it. (And of course, I am by now pretty familiar with the 4306 I purchased.) I will compare the two models, which should give you useful ...

Unbelievable sound...
Having spent multiple thousands of dollars on my home theater setup, I was amazed at how much better my speakers sounded when I replaced my JVC unit with this one. The auto setup was fairly easy (although I did end up switching the wiring on my speakers several times), and my movies and games have really come to life. More than once I've caught myself muting the system to see if it's really raining outside, only to realize that it was a sound effect from the game I was playing. All in all, I'...

Excellent receiver with the right price range
I am extremely pleased with this receiver and I am very glad that I bought this receiver to replace an ONKYOTX-503 receiver which i bought last yearI have the POLK RTi 10s for my fronts with the Cs5i centers and Fx3i surrounds and this receiver does an amazing job in bringing out the best of my speakers.I did see a few other reviews about the HDMI incompatibility and I wil say that I have had no problems. I use the Direct TV receiver that has an HDMI output and I connect it di...

Denon AVR-2807
While the product is excellent, I was disappointed to discover that my Time Warner cable box/DVR (a Scientific Atlanta Explorer 8300HD) refuses to work with the Denon over HDMI, apparently because the DVR doesn't handle HDCP correctly. So instead of being able to run everything over HDMI, I'm forced to run component video to the Denon, and let it switch that to the HDMI cable to the TV. The remote is probably the most complex remote I've ever seen, and not particularly easy to figure o...

Yes complex but that's because it's flexible
I've had this receiver since December 2006. First off Crutchfield service is incredible and was again in this case. I did have some HDMI problems with my SA DVR when I first hooked up the receiver. The video signal would cut out once in a while. After about a week of this I called Crutchfield and they sent me a new receiver without question even though they figured the issue was with the DVR or my cabling. Mind you they sent the replacement immediately. They just asked that I send back the origi...

Great but...
I like the features and quality of this receiver - you get a lot of value for your money. Rather than rehash all the valid good points others have noted I'd like to explain why I only gave it 4 stars (I was considering 3). A complex piece of equipment likes this receiver is only as good as people's ability to use it. The interface on this unit is not up to the challenge. The on-screen interface clearly was designed by someone who learned everything he knows about interface design from the or...

AV Virgin (no longer) First Impressions
I recently unpacked this hefty beast and promptly said to myself... where's the hookup picture? The table of contents (in the manual) is rather handy showing me where to start looking. After a little bathroom reading, I was ready to assemble my first real sound system. I had optical and component for an xbox360, component for my DVR (timewarner - after reading these reviews I didn't bother trying the HDMI), and pre-outs from my pc, as well as the 5.1 surround speakers to hook up and sort out....

When is HDMI not HDMI?
Well, add Comcast to the list of cable company DVR boxes that don't really put out true HDMI that the Denon can handle. Direct from the DVR to the TV is fine, add in the Denon and you get a message telling you the set-top box does not fully support HDMI and to use Component instead. Well, that means also hooking up an optical or coax for audio. What's the up with that? HDMI that isn't really HDMI? Otherwise, love the unit - with the one "bummer" of there isn't a sleep or off-timer. I've got...
