Great Receiver for the price

What's great about it: Easy to set up I am very happy with this receiver the sound blows my old Kenwood receiver away. It makes my old speakers sound so much better. connecting my Direct tv receiver and Blue Ray DVD was so easy with the HDMI. The remote is easy to operate and is well laidout

What's great about it: easy to set up, excellent sound quality, excellent customer support My daughter and I are novices at picking out this type of equipment. Our sales associate helped us through the process with good advice. He gave us a wonderful product while staying within our budget. We are extremely pleased with our purchase.

Denon AVR-X1000

The Denon AVR-X1000 is the best receiver I have had that falls in my price range which is less than $500. I suspect some of those that run to more than $800 are probably better, but I really can't see that much difference between the X1000 and the Denon 3013 of my son's (which cost a lot more). That being said, and doing some comparison between his setup and mine I find the crispness, response, tonal warmth (we both use Polk Audio speaker systems) and general signal clarity for either music or B...

Rough start, but great result

Very impressive, feature-rich unit. Controls are much more intuitive than the 10-year-old Denon it replaced. The on-screen display is terrific and the automatic speaker setup is spot-on. Out of the box, though, I couldn't get it to make a sound, nor was the Audigy option available. After about 45 minutes with Jack, a first-rate Crutchfield technician, we finally managed to get things going. The key seemed to be plugging in and removing headphones several times. Low-tech solution, I guess, but i...

Awesome receiver, Easy to use User Interface

This is my first high end receiver and I love it. It is very easy to use and the sound quality is awesome. I had always heard about Denon's quality and everything to date supports that. I've never had a receiver where I could hook it up to my TV, go to the "Receiver" input, and then have a User Interface where I can make tons of adjustments (if needed) to suit my taste. There are a lot of different settings, so take time to go through everything and to read the owners manual.

avr-x1000

The receiver was very easy to set up with Audyssey speaker set up and they sound great. The sound and video are both crisp and clear. I set up the network for internet radio and Pandora with no issues. The only problem I did have was the Wii connection. This receiver can not upscale video so I got a converter through another retailer for the back of the Wii to change it to a HDMI connection and it works perfectly fine (keep in mind it is still 480p). 3D movies play with no problem and digit...

Best 5.1 Receiver as of Oct 2013

What's great about it: Outstanding feature set, very easy to use What's not so great: iOS and Android app is so-so Denon has a real winner with the AVR -X1000. New GUI is nice; web app is great, and nearly gets no mention in the user manual. Don't be deterred by lack of You Tube user videos. Check out AVR-X2000 on You Tube, as the feature set is virtually identical expect for the number of amplified channels.P.S. Stay away from Pioneer Elite VSX-43 receiver. Slow HDMI source switching,...

Denon AVR-X1000 IN-Command

I purchased this AVR to replace a DENON 1610 that I purchased from Crutchfield 4 years ago, which stopped transmitting audio rather abruptly, with an audible clicking sound coming from the unit. I must say I preferred the 1610 to the X1000 for several reasons. Although the X1000 has 5 more watts per channel than the 1610, there are a few features that my old one had (at a less expensive price point) which the new one does not. On the 1610, there was no doubt when you were watching something with...
