Great sounding, powerful receiver!

Upon reading the previous reviews for this receiver, there was a few things I was concerned about. However, I took a chance and made the purchase.

Amazing All Around Unit

This unit has amazing sound and video quality. Once I performed the Audyssey setup, the sound improved greatly from already stellar quality. I'm currently using it in a 5.1 setup with zone 2 as a second set of front speakers (speakers A & B for fronts) since I'm using this as my stereo system as well. I wanted the best stereo setup with my Pulk Audio bookshelf speakers. I don't know if it's my AVR, my home internet service, or my iPhone but Airplay seems to be very glitchy. It cuts of...

Giant Step

This Denon replaces an older Denon that I was very pleased with. Right from the start smiles were generated which became wow's. I'm using a 5.1 configuration in the main TV room, and then have speakers throughout the house and use the extra 2 channels to power those. I remember the setup for my older Denon was very difficult with amp assignments, digital/analogue configurations, etc. Once the speakers were hooked up (more of that later), I was enjoying my new Denon in about 15 minutes of an...

Poor Quality & Service

Unit broke @ ~45 days of use and all Denon will do is to have me pay for shipping the unit to Los Angeles for repair. Really? It breaks this quickly and Denon wants to hide behind the warranty documentation? Great service Denon.... I can only hope that since I am an Elite Plus member that Best Buy will swap the unit and deal with Denon themselves.

No HD Tuner

I can only give this receiver four stars because of the lack of a HD tuner. My old Denon AVR 2311 had this feature which I loved. Now, you have to spend an extra $500 to get a HD tuner on a Denon receiver!

BEST Bang for the Buck....

This AVR replaces an 8 year old Sony DA555ES which served well as an audio receiver. The Denon AVR-X3100W provides not only excellent audio processing, but it also enables connection to the vast programming available on the internet. This receiver was the heart of a complete home theatre upgrade including 4 Infinity P363 towers and 1 PC351 center channel speaker. My Jensen JS-1000A Sub was still woofing nicely and was kept in the system. I'll have to update later about the advanced video pro...

Denon AVR-X3100W IN-Command

I've really enjoyed the receiver so far. The setup was pretty simple. Denon tries to make it as easy as possible. However, if you want to get into the weeds, there is some flexibility to do so. The power is great. The AVR inputs are color coded, with matching labels that can be added to your cables, a simple but very pleasant touch. The layout on the rear of the AVR is straight forward and well thought out. My favorite features so far are the customizability/assignability of each inpu...

I like it,, but firmware updates a problem

Good receiver,, lots of bells and whistles,, good power..If you do a firmware update and it fails,, it will keep you from using it anymore..Heres the fix..Turn off receiver,, then hold down the Source 2 button and the dimmer button at the same time and at the same time turn unit back on,, let it flash 5 x and let go..It will cycle off then you can turn it back on and be good to go...If not, do the same trick only use the channel preset buttons ..To avoid this go into menu and turn off notificati...

Easy set up and exceptional features

From opening the box to listening to great sound takes about 30 minutes. Set up on the Internet is simple using either an Apple device or directly to the network. Finding internet radio and other features is intuitive and simple to do in the usual Denon manner. There are plenty of connections for HDMI devices making switching between them a simple matter.

Everything I Needed

Bought this receiver expecting good results but got amazing results. I hooked it up to Klipsch Reference speakers and sub. It is powering two 8" reference towers, a dual 5 1/4" center channel and 5 1/4" bookshelfs for the rear. I have never owned a high end receiver before and i realize now what i was missing. The setup is very easy as it uses the television as a monitor to give you an easier display than the front of the receiver. It allows me to tell the receiver that i would like to run a 5.1...
