Good basic receiver for home theater

What's great about it: Easy to use, good price (sale) What's not so great: Not a lot of extra features This doesn't have a lot of extra's, But does everything I want it to do.The 3 HDMI's in the rear (plus 1 in front) are plenty for me. It was easy to set up, and my sounds great. You do need to make manual adjustments to loudness db's of each 5.1 speakers, but that was no problem in the setup. I had a hard time getting the receiver to "save" my adjustments, until I discovered I...

Solid, entry-level unit performs well.

Especially if one isn't looking for a lot of bells and whistles, or if one simply wants a basic surround system, I can highly recommend this unit, as it provides plenty of power, fairly easy setup, and VERY good sound for this price-level, provided one has some decent speakers.Setup was about as simple as it gets for A/V systems, having done quite a few entertainment systems for myself, family, and friends. My one complaint about setup here is that the printed and included "Getting Started" qui...

Fantastic Sound At A Great Price!

First off, this unit is heavy and has a great sleek look. The blue Display lights are crisp, bright and simple. For sheer simplicity, there are a minimal amount of buttons and controls on the front. This unit replaced my Yamaha RX-V371BL 5.1-Channel A/V Receiver which had 100 watts per channel. With a whopping 165 watts on the Denon, sound clarity and crispness is vastly increased. The remote on the Denon is also much simpler than the Yamaha, as it has (43) forty-three buttons instead of (7...

Exactly as advertised totally happy.

for reference:my audio room is 45 sq meters, (484 sq feet).Recently I liberated myself... after spending years buying expensive recivers that could do music and movies.Well, for Home theater the most important thing to consider before spending a lot, are the constant upgrades to standards. When I saw this receiver line come out, the specs and the focus of it's conception: HDMI, discreet channels, 3D, crossover settings for all channels, video passthrough and good price. I thought to myself, heck,...

Excellent!

This is one Denon's new E-series A/V receivers, it's the E-200, which is the low man on the totem pole, the others being the E-300 and the E-400. You can see the difference in features above on the webpage. The E-200 is also very similar to Denon's older AVR-1513 with only a few differences.I'm replacing an older Sony 60W A/V receiver with this. The E-200 has 165W max per channel (5 channels) and the power really comes through, you can really hear and feel the difference. I paired it with a pair...

Good receiver but Yamaha RX-V375 offers more features for same price

This is your basic 5.1ch home theater receiver and since it's from Denon build and sound quality is very good. Other than that there's nothing here that sets it apart from a Yamaha or Onkyo in the same price bracket. I currently own a Yamaha RX-V373 and here's a quick summary of what the Yamaha gives you that the Denon doesn't.Yamaha RX-373Front USB input for playing audio from iPhone, Ipad, UMS devicesBinding posts front main speaker connectionDigital Coaxial inputsComponent inputsYPAO with mic...

Great Receiver and Easy to Setup

First off, let me tell you my setup. I have this AV Receiver, a pair of Dual 8" speakers (100 watt peak), 2 pairs of Pyle 3" speakers (100 watt peak, only using 3 of them), Optical Out from TV.Front Speakers (left and right): Dual 8" (100 watt peak)Center Speaker: Pyle 3" (100 watt peak)Rear Speakers (left and right): Pyle 3" (100 watt peak)This is 165 watts per channel (each speaker can handle 165 watts). I am just using 100 watt speakers since they are cheaper and my room is a normal size li...

Excellent Reciever

Update: started making a humming noise. Pretty annoying. For warranty they want me to take it in to a shop several miles away and receipt is required. No ship back or other options.----------------------------------------------------We've had a Yamaha system for over 12 years which has been great. But it really wasn't designed for today's digital world. While it has Coaxial and Optical inputs no HDMI which seems to be the current interface (history shows it will change...). And our projection TV...

Entry Level Receiver With Panache!

Finally a simple 5:1 stereo receiver up to date enough to provide 4 hdmi inputs and 1 out. More importantly plenty of power (165 watts per channel) and that famous Denon sound reproduction. I also like the simple set up (manual - no auto) and the simple controls via the onscreen interface. It handles 3D pass though and provides full hdmi sound reproduction on all the hdmi inputs (watch out many others don't provide the full audio spectrum except on one or two). It's solid and sounds great. Th...
