Good camera for my needs

I did some research on a surveillance cameras that would fit my needs and this one fits me the best. Setup was actually pretty easy and didn't take too much time. However, the instructions that come with it are not that great. I got half way connected, but had to call customer service which was a great experience. A nice lady named Izy helped walk me through the steps and I was connected in no time at all. Otherwise, connecting through the D-link website and downloading the free app on my Androi...

I have been wanting the D-Link DCS-5222L camera since it was first announced and waited months for it to be available. I purchased the DCS-932L last year and loved it, but I really wanted something that panned and tilted, so this was exactly what I was looking for. Since setting up the DCS-932L was a breeze for me, I thought this one would be the same deal. It was the total opposite of that.I tried setting it up with the included CD and was able to get through the entire install process up un...

Wireless cameras are a dime a dozen these days but good cameras are often much harder to find. This one certainly ranks up with the best I've tried. It's not because of its video quality (it has a low 640x480 resolution), but it's because D-Link gives you options for how to use it and connect it to the Internet. You can use their free MyDlink service or simply "roll your own" and have the camera communicate directly with an FTP or email server without the need to use D-Link's services. ...

This is a nice camera. It's fast and easy to setup--even with Linux-based computer. Video quality is decent for what it is (a surveillance camera, not a high definition video camera). Motion and sound detection works very well. The microphone on this picks up a lot. It's kind of spooky. The camera looks cool, is unobtrusive and has a mounting bracket if you want to attach it to a wall. Even firmware upgrades are a breeze to install. You have several options for accessing the camera. You can conne...

I set it up in wifi, and used it for a few days now. It worked BUT now and then (every several hours or so) it would suddenly stop working. The green light was still on but there was no connection to my iphone. So I needed to unplug and reset the cam. This is a major issue.I guess the DLINK technical can answer here for me. Other than through this channel, it seems impossible to find a live person or find a e-mail address to discuss the issue.

I have experience with many security cameras like Mobotix, Ailocom, Logitech, etc. I bought D-Link DCS-5222L to test it and finally I compare it to Logitech Alert 750i. I have used MacBook Pro to test both cameras. The software version of the camera is 1.Physical characteristicsCamera looks and external feel is ok and it is heavier than I thought. You must buy MicroSD card separately.InstallationInstallation process was easy and fast. D-Link supports Mac, too, even if there is no installation ma...

I'm on a Mac and I was up and running in a matter of minutes. Wireless mode works fine using my Apple Airport network and the video is crisp after adjusting the focus ring. I haven't tried the WiFi extender mode since I don't really need it. You can install the camera on a wall or ceiling using the included mount with its adjustable arm, or just sit the camera on a flat surface. The free mydlink lite iPhone app works fine for viewing, listening, and panning/tilting the camera but I wish they w...

We had a rash of break-ins in our neighborhood during work hours. Having spent a small fortune on "professional" surveillance systems for my business, I wanted something a little less expensive, and I definitely didn't want a monthly fee attached to it. So I picked up one of these cameras to give it a whirl. I've got a little more experience than the average Joe, but the setup seemed easy enough. I was up in under five minutes. The toughest part was synchronizing it to my wireless router, but WP...

When I first bought this I had a bit of a hard time getting it to connect to my wifi, but once I went to the D-Link website and updated the firmware it connected fine.I've just been using this thing as a baby monitor and it works perfectly for that. I can be down in the office and still have an eye on my newborn without having to go in and check, and it's a heck of a lot cheaper and more secure than any cameras marketed as baby monitors because it uses the wifi and not radio waves. Plus it doubl...
