Great work around
Lightening knocked out the ethernet card on my laptop. To fix it was a lot more than than the D-Link High-Speed USB 2.0 To Ethernet Adapter.The USB Ethernet Adapter operates like the bad Ethernet card. It is fast and my computer and security software find it acceptable.Oh yea, it arrived by site-2-site real fast.(hide full review)

Dissapointment
DUB-E100 USB to Ethernet adapter was returned when I could not get the included driver to work and neither could their support personnel. They concluded it would not work with my XP-Pro with Service Pack-3!!! The package documentation lists minimum requirements as XP with Service Pack-2. Then purchased Belkin F5D5050 unit. Plugged it in and the Windows Plug and Play software found a driver and installed it with zero hassle.

Easy to Install & Works Great
I received this item from Amazon today and had it installed and running in minutes. It's an excellent choice. Works with Mac OS 10.5 Leopard
I purchased this for my intel iMac with a non-functioning ethernet port. The adapter is automatically recognized and will hook to the network with zero configuration. Communication speeds are fast.

D-Link website showed multiple compatibilities with earlier Windows versions, BUT software driver on enclosed CD was for Vista operating system only. Called D-Link tech support who stated that drivers for earlier versions could be downloaded - BUT without this operational converter I could not access internet to download. DOES NOT WORK!
Have windows xp on my system. cannot download drivers. (same problem as other people). Do not buy this if your computer is more than a year old.

D-Link High-Speed USB 2.0 To Ethernet Adapter
It's a very good product, but my HP Mini still wouldn't connect to the internet with it installed. The error message said that my ethernet cable didn't work; however, it works on my son's laptop, and it's a brand-new cable. So I give up.

Not a pleasant experience...
The product never worked. Software on the disc was corrupt. Contacted customer support. They helped me download new files which immediately put my laptop in blue screen mode upon installation. Had to listen to snake charmer music during hold time. Tech support was unable to get a qualified person to help me at that time, said they would call back. They did at 1 AM after I had restarted my computer in safe mode, unintalled software.

Great network adapter for Linux
I have an Atom-based motherboard with a single built-in network interface. I needed to add a second network interface so that I could turn the machine into a router. This device worked perfectly for my needs. I'm running Ubuntu Server 10.04.3 and it was detected correctly and works perfectly. The connection has been rock solid for about a month now. The 100mb speed wasn't an issue for me since it's still faster than my DSL connection. Very pleased and highly recommended for Linux users.

Make sure you have Windows 98SE
Amazon's description currently states that this adapter will work with Windows 98. However once I received the product the instructions stated it has to be Windows 98SE (second edition). I tried to install it anyway, and sure enough it wouldn't work.I'm sure it's a wonderful product, but Amazon needs to update their description.
