Pleasantly surprised
What's great about it: Better specs than competitors What's not so great: Brand not as familiar as others First off I'll state that I was trying to decide between this unit and the APC BR1500G. I have a very power hungry configuration, so I wanted something with plenty of headroom to support everything running full bore for an extended period of time. Once I got everything hooked up and running I was pleasantly surprised that my components I have hooked up to it aren't as power hungry as I tho...

The UPS works great.
What's great about it: Very good price. See above. What's not so great: Everything is good. The unit was very easy to set-up and get operational. The external display is also very good. I like everything about the unit.

Amazon confuses the Issues
Reviews lose their worth when they are listed as applying to multiple products. It looks like Amazon groups all reviews for similar, but distinctly different, models of uninterruptible power supplies. Just because two items share a logo does not mean that they are equivalent. Having reviews for different models of power supplies from the same company is more disengenuous than it would be to combine reviews of televisions that differ only in the brand name that stamped on the outside of the ca...

Worked Like a Charm Through The Storms, BUT BEWARE!
I have had this unit feeding 2 computers and a 23" monitor for 3 months. Always seemed fine, but was never really challenged until the past few days. With the east thunderstorms that knocked out power to millions, with frequent on and off surges, my equipment made it through fine - never fluctuated or seemed to notice what was happening. After the power finally failed for good, about 10 minutes in, I powered down and today, storms over for the time being, all is well. Can't ask for more.<...

Usually a good product but Amazon LIES on returns
Z Lorenz said it best:"Got unit which is faulty. No problem, this is Amazon.....and surprise : "For safety reasons, items that are classified as hazardous materials or use flammable liquids or gases cannot be returned to Amazon.com. Customers should dispose of hazardous materials according to Local, State and Federal regulations. Customers should contact their local government or local waste company for directions on how to dispose of Household Hazardous Waste. "I was hap...

Worked Perfect When Electricity Died Yesterday
The LCD panel is very helpful. Without the LCD panel, I would never know how reliable my UPS is (I would wonder "does my battery need to be replaced, and how long will the battery last in an outage?"). The panel turns off after about 30 seconds (I assume to save energy?) and can be seen again by pressing the button under the panel. Keep pressing the button and you will see more info (input volts, output volts, output Hz, output Kw, % of load capacity, % of battery capacity, estimate...

Good, but not terribly useful in real emergency
I bought the 1500AVR around 2009 or 2010. It has worked well in that time providing sufficient battery backup power to my system to allow me to save and shut down. No complaints there. HOWEVER, it did let me down earlier this week when I needed to run my computer with this UPS connected to a generator because we lost power due to hurricane Sandy. It's no secret that most generators output "dirty" power, meaning that power output could fluctuate as the load on the generator changes. So conve...

Fine UPS
I live on Long Island (NY) and have been suffering through a 10-day power outage thanks to Hurricane Sandy (and her friend, the winter storm Athena). Unlike a few of the other posters, I've had no trouble running my Cyber Power via my generator...in fact, that's one of the big reasons why I like it. Not only are we suffering through a long power failure, we also have a major gasoline shortage, making it quite difficult to find fuel to keep my generator going. The only solution has been to run th...

Inexpensive
We typically recommend our small business clients purchase APC UPSes, but these are so much more cost effective. The website support is pretty slim and there are no updates nor technical documentation. But if you're using this with a standard desktop machine, it should work well. We could not get it to work with the Buffalo LinkStation Pro USB shutdown feature - but they may be an issue with Buffalo.
