Marketing at works and Placebo effect

Integrity is important in writing reviews. I bought the Tx 400 for my sennheiser ie7. It is rubbish. With common sense, you can draw conclusion whether the wax guard will affect the sound quality. The foam is of good quality and it retains he shape pretty well. However, I find that the Tx400 highly overpriced. Just use the normal thick and high quality silicon tips by ultimate ears or shure. Its delivers the same result. The rest are just placebo effect with Tx400.

After about one month, they ripped. Ridiculous for the price. Stick with silicone. I replaced them with the standard Skull Candy ones for five bucks.

Disposable Income

These tips are great for most ears if you want isolation and comfort. Coming as a regular user of the gray Comply T-400 tips, I haven't noticed a sound quality drop from the earwax shield. It's worth the extra few bucks to keep the ear stuff from accumulating on your most precious cans. The sound improvement that I get from my Denon AH-C551's and AH-C751's can be summed up as 'nice'. The bass is punchier and the highs and mids still hit just right. If anything, the extra sealing ca...

not worth the extra $

Too gadety maybe, because there is a loss of sound quality compared to the "comply" foam without the "wax barrier". The plain "comply" foam with the open channel works in my opinion.

These are great, but you are better off getting them from the Comply website

*NOTE* Most of this review no longer applies since Amazon lets you choose the size now.Great ear-bud tip replacements, sound wonderful and quiet -- super quiet. That said, you are probably better off ordering them from the Comply website than here. I ordered these and they didn't fit in my ears. They would go in fine at first but then after a few minutes the foam expanded and caused pain. Checked the Comply website and there is actually 3 sizes (small, medium, large). Amaz...

solid sure sound, but generic unsure fit to earbud

. other reviewers of Comply foam complained of deterioration, and, this reminded me thatskin oils can be very corrosive to certain foams;[11.14: so, my first pair got lubed with a stable food-grade greaselike plumbers silicone greasebut I later wondered if that was healthy for topical applicationand have sinced used zinc oxide ointment as a grease . ][11.6: however,a problem I've had with that approach,is that if the grease saturates the inner...

Upgrade your headphone sound cheaply

My friend has these as standard equipment for his Shure headphones. When I bought these for my Altec Lansing, it was a HUGE difference. For one thing the original ear pads don't fit that tightly. With these, not only do they fit (and stay in), but the sound isolation increases by a huge amount. And the Bass gets rock solid too. What a sweet way to NOT have to spend a whole bunch of money on a Shure.Make sure that you get the fight model Complys for your headphones- go to the Comply website...

Work as Advertised

Bought at Radio Shack on a whim to use with my Sennheiser CX300 ear buds. The silicon ear plugs that come with the CX300 do not give a sturdy/tight fit.Problem solved with the T-400.Tight fight (very comfortable for lengthy wear).Isolation is great and vastly superior to silicon ear gels.Although the idea of paying so much for a piece of foam is questionable (when will the cheap knockoffs come?)if you are looking for a secure fit with superior isolation t...
