Not bad for a cheapy.
 
First, the sound isn't as nice as other sub $20 MP3 players (Sylvania) I've purchased through here. There should be a mechanical sliding on/off switch instead of pushing and holding the D - pad for 6 seconds. Random play isn't truly random as some songs get played more often than others n sometimes back to back. The belt clip is nice. I wish all small MP3 players had belt clips! The apearence is nice n modern n the joystick style D-pad is a nice touch. Also the fastest continuous upload speed of

Doesn't work
 
When I plugged in my old mp3 player it just opened a blank screen like an empty folder and you could drag and drop whatever you wanted into it. You could also delete files in it and put in others. With this Coby mp3 player you can't do anything until you install a 99 MB computer program and you can only do that on certain versions of Windows, mainly XP. Once you get this thing installed it has all kinds of unexplained options and a 36 page manual which I guess you are supposed to study to try to

Unit would not charge.
 
I have bought and returned two units, neither would charge. the first time was probably my fault as my computer was set to go to sleep after 20 minutes of inactivity. however I reset my computer to never sleep and still could not charge the battery after 24 hours of being plugged in. I just ordered another to try again. I used in store pickup and the local store was very cooperative about the returns, so it has cost me nothing so far.(hide full review)

Does exactly what I want
 
I power walk everyday and this is exactly what I've been needing. Other mp3 players I've had I had to either have a pocket or try to tuck it in my waist band. This I can just clip it on my shirt and go. It's perfect for my needs. I really like the small usb plug that came with it. No long cord to deal with and I was pleasantly surprised that it had a rechargeable battery. I have a usb wall charger so it doesn't have to be plugged into the computer. The newer MP3 players this one in particular do not stay charged long enough to enjoy them. I like the old ones better with AAA battery...you have longer play life. I purchased 2 of these and neither works properly although I love the clip design.
