Commercial Use
I have these in all 4 of my company's vans to run heavy duty continuous use machines. My old inverters would pop and I would have to turn them off and back on. If these surge it resets itself within less than a second and keeps on truckin. I had to install a solenoid for them to work correctly (my mechanic advised me to do that, I dont know the technicalities) because without the solenoid it wasn't drawing enough power. Powerfull, good quality inverter.
I bought this inverter to run my home fridge during power outages. It works great. No problems starting and running the compressor. It even handled a 1/2" drill motor easily.I picked this one for it's power and voltage display. It allows me to estimate the battery draw so I have an idea how long it will last. Good choice
I use this to run two laptops and charge various pieces of test equipment in my truck. Its display flashes between the voltage and the current draw which is a nice feature. I accidently plugged in something that was too much for it and the Cobra shut down and displayed an error code. I looked up the code in the manual and found it was overloaded, I unplugged the equipment and the Cobra resumed working. I also purchased the remote on/off button for this. Works Great
We used this inverter to power our Christmas Float with two RV deep cell batteries. It worked great and our float was the hit of the parade.

Terrible product. Specs are either a lie or many defective units
Hooked up at a 2009 Toyota Corolla and tried to run a compressor that require ~ 800watts. No go?Hooked up to a 2006 Dodge Durango and tried again... No Go???Tried some other things around the house. Typographical error?
Amazon seems to call this a 2000 watt Inverter everywhere they describe it... however, when I saw the 1500 watt CPI-1575 priced for more than the CPI-1000 I did some checking.The specs for this CPI-1000 describe it as a 1000 watt inverter -- duh! the model number would confirm this. So Amazon: fix your ads and descriptions to be accurate, please.

Excellent product, I am using it to run my Directtv,automatic dish, TV, and much more. I am sure I am only using a small amount of its capabilities but works great.

Cobra 1000w Inverter
Purchased this product to replace a 400w inverter that I've moved to my automobile. I use the 1000w inverter in my truck to power the laptop and printer I use in my day to day contracting work. Needed more watts to handle larger capacity, laser printer.WOrks just fine as I expected it would. My mechanic hard wired the inverter to the engine compartment. This Cobra CPI 1000 will do what it say's it will do. I hooked it up to my truck battery & groundedthe Inverter to my truck chassey & tried out my electrical 1/2 impact & a small air compresser with an xtention cord & it worked GREAT.Good investment.(hide full review)

Enough to power PS3
Tried several others before this one. main reason for purchase was for a PS3. Once I bought this one the PS3 worked... One caution though. If you use the old PS3 (fat one game play 200watts) the power required will or might give you feed back through the speakers in the form of a hiss.
