Fantastic medium size binocular

I already have 10x50 and 20x80 binoculars. Since 20x80 has a relatively narrow field of view (3.2 degrees), I wanted to have a medium size binocular having a wider field. The Celestron Cavalry provides a 4.7 degree field and also a longer eyerelief (18mm). The images through this binocular look amazing. This one became my most used binocular for stargazing. It is also lightweight (about 3 lbs). For the quality, the price ($) is almost too good to be true.

Far better than I hoped for

My application is astronomy and this pair of binoculars have been great (limited use so far since I've only had them two weeks). Based upon on-line chat/ discussion I was concerned about poor collimation. That was not an issue with this set. This purchase was a step to larger diameter and higher power from Nikon 10x50 ATB. While this set included a tripod mounting bracket, which is nice as opposed to having to by it as an accessory for Nikon, It's made out of plastic and has a bit of a wobble. ...

Great buy

Used for a safari in Kenya. Surprisingly stable, no need for a tripod. Solid construction. Sharp images

Clear, Crisp and lightweight

I love the outdoors and have had many sets of binoculars. I am a boater and a target shooter. Over the years I cannot even calculate the amount of money I have spent on numerous pairs. After this purchase that has ended, this will be my last pair. I made this purchase on a friends recommendation. To start the optics are clear and crisp. As a shooter I have used Nikon and Leupold for spotting scopes and binoculars. I am used to very clear optics. The Cavalry is right there! I was amaze...

Poor Support

I purchased the Calvary 15X70 binoculars (item 71426) with great anticipation to improve my celestial viewing experiences. Unfortunately, they came with a collimation (i.e. alignment) issue. For example, the double star in the handle of the "Big Dipper" showed up as 4 stars. Through Amazon, it was suggested that I contact Celestron directly. I did. The phone message for Celestron technical support last Friday morning indicated "We are closed for a company event". I got the same message for that ...

Large & bulky, but that was expected. Required bracing for a good look. Excellent optics which is what I wanted.

they suffer from 1 very serious design flaw as well as poor quality control in regard to collimation (optical alignment)

This is one of the most affordable, waterproof/fogproof, 15x70 binoculars (with a central focus knob) that I have seen. However, they suffer from 1 very serious design flaw as well as poor quality control in regard to collimation (optical alignment).- The eyecups are comically enormous. I am a 6'2" male and I typically need to adjust the distance between a binocular's eyepieces to slightly wider than halfway between the widest and narrowest position. The diameter of the Cavalry's eye...

it has provided excellent viewing / stargazing

In combination with a recently purchased pistol grip tripod, it has provided excellent viewing / stargazing.
