You get what you pay for.

I own both the 8 X 25 IS and the 10 X 30 IS at present and have owned the 12 X 36 IS in the past. This is really a case of you get what you pay for. The 8 X 25 IS is a high quality binocular for the asking price. However, I have found the 10 X 30 IS to be a better product in performance and quality and worth the extra money. So, if you are considering buying an IS binocular go with the 10 X 30 IS. Also, I found the 12 X 36 IS to be a bit heavy for most uses.

Great product

Buy one.I've had mine for two years now and it solved all my problems with viewing from a small plane, underway in a boat or car, panning a landscape, and looking from ground at aircraft (or even stars). All the long range vibrations are gone so that now you can see distant objects with the same clarity are close range. An example: you don't need them for birds at 20 ft, but at 50+ ft I can tell the bird while unstablized cannot. Prince William Sound fishing in Alaska, Whales in Hawaii, birdi...

Best Value for the Price!

I purchased the 8x25 IS binocular knowing that it lacked the features and capability of its big brother the five (5) star rated 10x42 IS. Yes, the 10x42 IS is a superior binocular, no doubt, but I wanted an image stabilized binocular for travel that weighed around one (1) pound. The 8x25 IS fits the bill as the 10x42 IS is at least twice as heavy. Also the 8x25 IS is fairly compact, which is good since I never check bags and space is at a premium. A big plus, the 8x25 IS is very afford-ably pric...

Binoculars

I have the larger 15 x50 also I wanted something lighter for my jeep. So I purchased these and they work great. lighter easier to carry and much less expensive. Iwish Canon would take their photo technology and add it to an serires of image stabilized Binoculars like maybe the 15 x50 or 18 x80,

Canon 8x25 IS - Good Enough

These binoculars are awesome; lightweight, compact, and crystal clear. A little over-priced but perfect for travel and general use. The only issue is with IS feature. It helps with very windy days or shaky platforms, etc. but it distorts the crystal clear image slightly. It does help control the binoculars but you do loose superior viewing.

Good binoculars, BUT.....

I ordered a pair in November for my wife's birthday in January. Opened the box to discover there were NO straps included, even though the B&H website shows two straps should have come with the binoculars. Contacted B&H, who apoligized but said I had waited too long for them to do anything, and that I should contact CanonUSA. I sent CanonUSA an email, and they in turn sent me instructions to contact telephonically their parts center. Canon will sell me the binocular strap for about $10 plus about...

Great Binoculars

These are great binoculars for use at concerts and general use. They also work well for bird watching in a backyard setting. Make sure you buy extra batteries, as they DO NOT LAST long. Online reports say 20 hours, but that's impossible. I'm using new surefire CR123 batteries. Real life use is more like 1, maybe 2 hours max. If you use these regularly, you should probably buy the CR123s from B&H, as they can cost a small fortune at a camera store. CR123s are $12 EACH at my local camera an...
