Terrible purple fringing

Images are sharp, but have terrible purple fringing. IS works very good. Eyecups are the most uncomfortable I have ever used. They are so wide they dig into the side of your nose bridge, especially during close focus where you have to narrow the pupillary distance to view images.

Happy with these binos

I'm happy with these binos. I've owned several Canon IS binos (8X, 10X, 12X) and these are the best. The close focus is a great improvement.\n\nInteresting discovery about the IS status. When the binos are held horizontally, the IS stays on for exactly 5 minutes. But when the IS is on and the binos are pointed down at about a 45-degree angle, the IS goes off in a few seconds. And when the binos are pointed straight down, the IS works but only while holding down the button.\n\nI've experienced a ...

Eyecup uncomfortable, bad optics

The most uncomfortable and ergonomically the worst binoculars I have ever tried. You will see two separate images thru the lenses until you have to narrow the eyepiece distances so much that the eyecups sharply dig into your nose bridge. Also the cups do not properly sit properly around eyes. The optics of my $90 Nikon 8x25 equal or exceed these Canon.

Weird lag and jitter

Man, I really wanted to love these. I loved my old 10x30 IS Canon binoculars and ordered these the day they were announced on Amazon. That was in August; finally got them yesterday. And I don't like them much at all.First, let me be clear that these are quality binoculars--I just don't like the way they work. Maybe the image-stabilizing was defective on mine, or maybe it's just weird. But the image is clear and sharp, and both stages of image-stabilizing work effectively. The first mode is for w...

Expensive and I would purchase agian without hesitation.

Great binoculars. New stabilization method is superior to the previous Canon model. I could not be more pleased.

Very impressive binoculars.

This was my first IS binoculars and I am very happy with them. For context, I'm not a bird-watcher or a star gazer, I just use binoculars to casually look at landscapes, etc., so it's possible that there are little imperfections that a more serious binocular user might pick up on, that I missed. That being said, these binoculars are really, really, nice. The ergonomics are great. They're not too heavy for me, and the image stabilization is very impressive. The regular IS mode works great... I on...

Pleased!

I truly recommend the 14x32 IS for birders and wildlife observers. I owned an earlier generation IS and this newer tech in the 14x32 is very satisfying. If youre new to IS you are in for a surprise....seeing detailed behavior and even within some 7 feet away from the subject. Enjoy!

Best Choice?

I was looking for a stabilized binocular that was the lightest and least expensive for the mag range. I chose the Canon since it appeared to be the lowest cost and weight for a 14-15 zoom range. I had bought several less expensive non-stabilized units that all gave a too-jittery view to really distinguish the view in any detail. This unit jitters too until you push the stabilizer button and wham-o the view steadies and you can read the ship names of boats at sea from my ocean side balcony. Lets ...
