Quality unmatched

The Blue Yeti Microphone is an exceptional piece of hardware with the option of using both it's XLR and USB capabilities. It's definitely one I have absolutely no problem recommending to anyone wanting to start recording audio for any reason whatsoever. I did have a bit of a problem though.. The Microphone i had received looked to be in slightly damaged condition, probably done while it was being shipped. The box wasn't padded in foam or anything else to protect it during shipping, so that may h...

Amazing sound quality without breaking the bank

I am a Musician, and a general audiophile, and I think this microphone is the best of both worlds. It isn't to say that this mic outshines a U87, but price to quality ratio, it kills the 87. I have been using it with USB and XLR without any issues, other than a driver installation. Unlike other reviewers, I saw that plugging us into a Mac was just fine, no low gain at all. Then I tried it on my PC, also no issues. I plugged it in to my akt preamp, and it went right through. finally, I plugg...

Problems with unusably low gain and lots of clicking

As several other folk here have described, I too have had problems with extremely low gain and clicking when recording. I have tried two units of the Yeti Pro (using a MacBook Pro). I returned both. I tried contacting Blue, but did not receive a response.I can hear voice in the headphones using the internal headphone jack, but the computer (using either garage band or logic studio) does not pick it up. If all gain volume levels are set to max, there is a faint pick up, but that's ...

The worst transaction I've ever made in my life...

If I could give ZERO stars I would. I realize use of CAPS is YELLING. I am yelling; I'm very upset with Blue but Amazon made me happy. I'll give bullet points and save you the poetic drivel:*This is NOT compatible with Windows 7 *The drivers fail to install on Windows 7 in BOTH USB 2.0 and USB 3.0 slots when I plug it in [EDITED AND UPDATED because I MAY have missed the drivers] *When you go to Blue's driver page, it has a link to buy but the driver file is hard to s...

good mic for VO

This mic is really nice for voice recording.I hear people talking about it's attractiveness, and weight, flimsy knobs, and a whole bunch of silly stuff. If you mount the thing on a mic stand in a recording booth and put a pop filter in front of it, it's looks and weight and knob strength are meaningless.Bottom line:- USB 2.0 ready -- plug it right into your Mac and start using Garageband or Logic Pro in the first minute after you open the box. nothing else required....

BAD DRIVERS / DOESN'T WORK WINDOWS

I have spent over 10 hours trying to get this microphone to work. The original Blue Yeti works very easily. You plug in the USB and you're done. This Blue Yeti Pro, no matter what I do, never records at a proper level. I have to set the Gain to Max and speak with my face 1 CM away to get it to register any sound. I thought that I had a defective microphone so I exchanged it but no solution. Both Microphones had the same problem. I've tried it on many different Windows computers and can ne...

Almost Perfect.

This is the best USB mic ever made. The quality is outstanding. Some people say it doesn't sound any different then the orginal Yeti, and I thought that too when I first used it. But then I went to my Mic settings (on Win 7) and I found out the mic was being limited to 48Hz 16 Bit ! I quickly changed it to 96Hz 24 Bit and the difference hit me. It sounds perfect, the exact way my voice sounds. The only thing I don't like is that you need other propitiatory software for it to work. So I can't jus...

I'm blown away

I'm a musician and singer/songwriter who has recorded in home studios of varying quality and price for years. I currently have a Pro Tools setup on my main music computer but I bought the Yeti Pro because I wanted an easy, portable solution to use with Garageband on my laptop in order to record parts with other musicians on various songs. I have to confess I was skeptical about the quality of a USB mic, but after using it tonight, I may not ever go back to my analog mics. I recorded vocals an...

Yeti Pro Microphone

This microphone has been touted as a marvel, with "CD-Quality" audio, but I found the audio quite bad and of such a low level output that it was basically worthless. There is a possibility that I did not set it up properly, as the setup procedure (regarding the Mac) goes much further than simply setting the input and output levels in System Preferences, but I tried to configure it in various ways without any better results.
