The biggest reason is software. The Ipod is extremley good quality and very functional, but perhaps my biggest pet peave is the inability to simply delete a song that I dont care for. With the zen it is a snap, anytime, anywhere. With the Ipod you must connect to your computer and navigate through the garbled up mess
